High Elves

Overview

The High Elves are a once-immortal species of humanoids that reside in the country of Faymalia, created by the Goddess Elara to live lives of rich bounty under their Deity. The Heavensblight ended their immortality, and now while Elves have miraculously long lives, they will eventually die, grow old, and perish. High Elves are renowned for their affinity for magic, and some of the greatest mages of Vathria are Elves from Faymalia, such as the Champion Trelladom. They are led by King Winma Luinsul and are known worldwide for their magical research at Falendria Academy.

Culture

They have strict cultural customs and tend towards austerity and elegance, with interests more in magical displays and debate than weaponry fighting. They enjoy delicacies from across Vathria and have developed in cuisine and music due to their long lifespans. The nobles are austere but charitable, giving to the poor in their community and abroad.

Government

Faymalia is led by King Winma Luinsul, under which is the Order of the Moon, the Council of Elves in charge of daily affairs. Nobility is divided between High Elves and Wood Elves, and the power dynamic shifts between the two groups, creating constant tension.

Physical

All Elves share common characteristics of having long, pointed ears, an inability to grow facial hair, and an ethereal attractiveness. Their height ranges from around 5 foot 10 inches to 6 foot 6 inches (177-198cm).

Personality

The High Elves emphasize elegance and traditions and believe themselves superior to the other races and the Wood Elves.

Talents

High Elves usually have immense potential for magic. For centuries before Trelladom became the school Dean, the High Elves ran the Falendria Academy and hoarded the magical arts from other races.
