Overview
The Gnomes live alongside the
Dwarves in the great underground mountain cities of
Korozok, helping them build their mechanisms using their knack for precision and tinkering. Like the Dwarves, they too suffer under the rule of the tyrant King Garad and are forced to adhere to the Caste system much like their Dwarven cousins. The Gnomes, however, do not receive the same levels of respect or protection as most Dwarves do under Garad's rule, and many Gnomes have found themselves lost as Korozok's new second-class citizens.
Culture
The Gnomes might not share the Dwarves' affinity for drinking but they certainly do when it comes to celebrations and festivals. The Gnome districts of Ekenvir are awash with color, lights, and festivities all year round. The Gnomes perfected the technology of underground fireworks and will use any opportunity to make a bang.
Government
The Gnomes ultimately obey the leadership of the Dwarf King Garad but, on a smaller scale, are divided into their family houses, following the administration of their family leader. This was changed significantly when Garad's Caste system came into effect and many Gnomes found their position changed overnight. Garad may accept that they are all children of Kraz but he has made it abundantly clear that he considers the Dwarves more important than the Gnomes, and even then, only his kind of Dwarf.
